Never ending flame

Not an hour goes by

where you aren’t in my thoughts—

a relentless fire burning,

never dimming, never cooling.

Not a night without dreams of you,

where you haunt my sleep,

a ghost I cling to,

because letting go would plunge me

into a darkness I can’t bear to face.

Your face is carved into my mind,

each smile, each glance,

an ember that keeps me alive

and drives me mad all at once.

I can’t escape you,

and I don’t want to—

the flames consume me,

but in the heat of your memory,

I find the warmth I can’t live without.

Even in the pain, there’s comfort—

in the fire, there’s life.

Loving you is my torment,

but losing you would be my end.
